Referring Provider Telehealth Information

Blue Sky Neurology has started a new telemedicine program to continue patients' care during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a trusted partner and healthcare provider, here's what you need to know.
Are you taking new patients? How can I refer them?

Yes, Blue Sky Neurology is still taking new patients. You can continue to refer patients to us in the same ways you have in the past by phone or fax.

How long will it take for you to see my patients?

We are currently able to schedule and see patients in 48 hours or less.

Are your clinics still open? Is Blue Sky Neurology performing any procedures (i.e. EMG/EEG) during this time period?

Yes, our clinics are still open and each provider is seeing patients in the office once per week. Click here for the schedule.

While we are conducting as many telemedicine visits as we can, we are still conducting emergent procedures in our office. Click here to see a letter from our medical director, Dr. Patrick Bushard, on the subject.

How are you protecting my patient"s privacy and ensuring their safety?

We are using a HIPAA-compliant platform called Doxy, which allows us to make video calls via a web enabled device with a camera. Additionally, many health insurances, including Medicare and Medicaid, are reimbursing for audio-only telehealth calls during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are storing patients' information on systems that we also use for in-person visits.

Additionally, we are only seeing patients for telemedicine when appropriate. For many people, we cannot safely conduct a telemedicine visit for a variety of reasons. For those people, we can schedule them for one of our limited in-person appointment slots.

How can I speak with one of your providers quickly?

As a referring provider, you can always call us and ask to speak to the physician on call if you have any questions.

Is telemedicine difficult to use?

Blue Sky Neurology utilizes an easy-to-use platform called Doxy to conduct telemedicine visits. You will receive a link on your internet enabled device (usually either a computer or a phone), click it, and you will be set for your visit. Click here for more information.
