FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colorado — Craig Stout, a longtime healthcare executive who is no stranger to CarePoint Health, has been named the company’s chief operating officer.

Previously, Stout was COO of the organization’s Western Market, which encompasses more than 20 hospital-based and standalone emergency departments across three states.

In his new role, in addition to heading CarePoint’s western market, Stout will manage the company’s Emergency Medicine and Hospital Medicine service lines in its eastern market. In all, more than 40 emergency departments and three hospitalist programs across five states will be under Stout’s operational purview.

“I couldn’t be happier to have Craig serve in this new role,” CarePoint CEO Mark Kozlowski, MD, said. “With more than 27 years of healthcare experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a seasoned approach to this position. I’m excited to partner with Craig and appreciate his dedication and exceptional skillset.”

Before coming on board at CarePoint, Stout was COO of Salt Lake City-based Emergency Physicians Integrated Care. In 2019, he helped lead the merger of EPIC and CarePoint, creating one of the largest privately held and democratically owned physician practices in the U.S.

Before joining EPIC in 2014, Stout served as vice president of operations at Scottsdale Healthcare, a partner in healthcare consulting company Vector Management and CEO of South Towne Surgery Center.

Stout helped establish the Utah Ambulatory Surgery Center Association and served as its vice president from 2004-2006. He is also a recipient of the American College of Healthcare Executives’ Early Career Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award, which is presented to people for their “healthcare management excellence.”

Stout holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Weber State University and Master of Business Administration and Master of Healthcare Administration degrees from the University of Minnesota.

“I’m excited and humbled to serve as CarePoint’s chief operating officer,” Stout said. “With an amazing group of physicians, advanced practice providers, scribes and staff around me, I’m bullish on what we can achieve. I look forward to leading and working alongside such a great group of people.”
