February 27, 2025
Longtime CarePoint Blue Sky Neurosciences (CPN) neurologist and leader Jeff Wagner, MD, has been named Regional Stroke Medical Director for the practice’s MidAmerica telemedicine network, which includes nearly two dozen facilities across Kansas and Missouri.
In his new role, Dr. Wagner will provide clinical and operational guidance to the stroke teams at these facilities, collaborate closely with local leadership, and, along with CPN stroke coordinators, participate in key stakeholder meetings to offer clinical expertise on telestroke process improvement initiatives. He will also serve as physician lead for new implementations and physician onboarding at these facilities.
Dr. Wagner joins Alicia Bennett, DO, Kourosh Kahkeshani, DO, and Zachary Norman, MD, as Regional Stroke Medical Directors for the practice.
The facilities within the MidAmerica network have a proven track record of success. Recently, Research Medical Center (Kansas City, MO) topped Healthgrades’ rankings for stroke care in Missouri for the second year in a row. Research’s stroke program is managed by CPN inpatient neurologists and advanced practice providers.
Dr. Wagner has served in various leadership capacities within CPN, including as stroke medical director for several of the practice’s partner facilities in the Denver area. He is currently the director of the practice’s neurology residency program.
Dr. Wagner joined CPN in 2009 after completing his fellowship in neurophysiology at the University of Utah. He attended medical school and completed his residency training at Oregon Health & Science University. He is board certified in Neurocritical care. His areas of interest in neurology include telemedicine, stroke systems of care, and vascular neurology.
