Blue Sky Neurosciences (Inpatient) - Neurocritical Care Advanced Practice Provider
Position Description
The Neurocritical Care Advanced Practice Provider delivers high-acuity care to neurologic and neurosurgical patients in ICU setting and via telehealth, working alongside and collaborating with the Neurocritical Care team (neurointensivists, neurosurgeons, and neurohospitalists). This role currently covers one high volume tertiary transfer center with the possibility of other coverage in the Denver Metro area. The schedule is built around 10-hour days with no on-call/home call responsibilities.

Position Requirements
Education/Licensure:
- Master’s degree
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current NP or PA license in good stand with the state
- Prescriptive authority and DEA number or ability to obtain if applicable
Current BLS
Experience:
APP experience preferred; prior neurocritical care, ICU, or acute neurology experience strongly preferred but not required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Job Responsibilities
- Coordinates and reviews patient census with Neurocritical Care physicians and develop plans to address each patient
- Obtains and reviews patient histories, performs comprehensive and focused exams and records findings in the electronic medical record
- Places admission, discharge, transfer orders as well as patient care orders for the team and their primary patients
- Pre-rounds and multidisciplinary rounds with the Neurocritical Care team; coordinate daily care plans for ICU patients
- Determine medical status and working diagnoses; develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians
- Manage ICU orders and protocols within scope and privileging, including fluids, vasoactive/sedation titration per protocol, ventilator adjustments in collaboration with RT, seizure management, temperature management, and DVT/stress ulcer prophylaxis
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing (labs, CT/MRI, CTA/MRA, EEG/cEEG) and escalate findings promptly
- Communicate care plans with ICU staff, patients, and families; provide education and counseling to support best
- Completes documentation and responds to questions from patients and hospital staff in a timely manner
- Attends meetings as requested

Salary Range
$120k-$125k
