Dr. Cheryl Melick was raised in Vermont, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology at the University of New Hampshire. Subsequently, she obtained her Medical Technologist certification and a Master of Science degree in Microbiology at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Dr. Melick attended medical school at Boston University, graduating with Honors. Her residency in Emergency Medicine was completed at Denver Health, and she served as Chief Resident in her final year. Most recently, Dr. Melick was a member of the elite panel of medical specialists that assisted in the preparation of the guidelines for the ground-breaking state statute which now regulates concussion management for youth sports in Colorado. Concurrently, she has worked closely with the pediatric concussion program at Rocky Mountain hospital for Children.
Dr. Melick has over 25 years of experience in Emergency Medicine, and has treated a great number of patients with concussions over the years. She has taken a special interest in expanding concussion management access to the adult sports population. Outside of her Emergency Medicine responsibilities, Dr. Melick is the co-founder and medical director of the CMEH foundation, which promotes primary healthcare and education in rural Cambodia. In her spare time she enjoys skiing and the great outdoors that Colorado has to offer.
